At Land And Sea Marine, we use only stainless steel framing connectors, bolts, nails, screws and hardware on our docks. Don’t let anyone tell you that galvanized hardware on an open water dock will last for the long term... it won’t. Our stainless steel hardware has a superior lifespan

Our docks are built to last, and to admire. We go over and above with structural and cosmetic construction methods to achieve our goal. We start with installing 2.5 CCA treated Marine pilings set well below muck and silt levels into solid bottom to provide maximum resistance to storm surges, and we drill effectively through coquina rock when necessary. Our framing consists of doubled collar beams and 20 foot main stringers with the joints staggered as to not create a hinged framing area at any one piling set. Joiner blocks are also installed at all stringer joints and diagonal “X” bracing is installed below the deck level for added protection against side impact from waves and debris. The “X” bracing, beams and outer stringers are all through bolted to the pilings with stainless steel bolts.

Available decking options range from an economical #1 dense 2x6 .40 ACQ treated Southern Pine, to a .40 treated 2x6 eased edge PreservePlus™ Tropical decking with a wax additive, to various grades and sizes of vinyl and composites.  These options are based upon usage requirements and budget allowances, and samples with pricing information can be provided on all of these options to allow you to make an informed decision on the finished surface of your new dock.  Other options are available as seen below, and may vary from a full wood dock rail to a simple rope rail, an economical synthetic unmanilla rope or a quality long lasting double braided nylon rope, a kayak launch or ramp, bench seating and tables, as well as an assortment of trim features.  The possibilities are endless, so please ask and if permitting regulations allow it, we can provide it.

After the decking is installed, the fine details are addressed such as precise profile cuts around all pilings. On all of our wood decking, edge trim is installed for a framed, finished look. This is our trademark and we feel it adds that extra appeal that a finished product should have. If no railing is installed, the tops of the pilings are cut to exact specifications and piling caps are installed, or they are sanded with a belt sander for smooth safe edges depending on the requirements of the client.
